Dental Sealants: The Back-to-School Habit That Prevents Cavities

Most cavities in school-age kids start in the grooves of back teeth. Sealants close those grooves in minutes.

Timing matters

First permanent molars arrive around age 6, second molars around age 12. Sealing them soon after they erupt gives the best protection.

No needles, no drilling

We clean the tooth, paint on the sealant and harden it with a light. Kids are usually done before they get bored.
